Mötley Crüe Brings ‘The Return of the Carnival of Sins’ to MIDFLORIDA Amphitheatre

The sword swallowers and two-headed snakes come to town first. When Mötley Crüe kicked off “The Return of the Carnival of Sins” tour earlier this summer, they didn’t just roll out a normal rock show — they staged a full theatrical carnival production spanning four decades of hard-rock anthems. The tour hits Tampa on Saturday, August 15, at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre.

The show starts at 6:30 p.m., with Tesla and Extreme sharing the bill — two 80s rock institutions that make this a genuinely deep lineup rather than just a headliner and filler openers. The venue itself sits inside the Florida State Fairgrounds off US-301, a roughly 20,000-capacity outdoor amphitheatre — one of the few in Tampa Bay where a rock mix actually has open sky to breathe instead of bouncing off an enclosed roof. The one real downside is parking: it’s sold separately from concert tickets, and arriving early is worth it to avoid a long walk from the overflow lots.
