Most race-day bibs are about a finish time. This one’s about who isn’t coming home — the Tampa Police Memorial Run is a charity 5K built specifically to honor fallen officers, and it draws a genuinely different crowd than the usual weekend race calendar: off-duty officers, families, and plenty of first-time runners who show up for the cause more than the course. This year’s run is Saturday, October 10, starting from Lykes Gaslight Square Park downtown.
The 5K starts at 8 a.m., with a separate 1 Mile Run/Walk following at 9 a.m. for anyone who wants to participate without committing to the full distance. Registration pricing steps up the closer you get to race day, so signing up now beats waiting until the week of.
Good to know: Lykes Gaslight Square Park, 410 N Franklin St, Tampa. Registration (as of this week): $49.85 for the 5K, $28.25 for the 1 Mile.
