Lumbre Brings Wood-Fired Spanish Cooking to North Hyde Park

Tampa’s North Hyde Park just got a serious new dining anchor. Lumbre opened Wednesday, July 15, at 220 N Rome Ave. in the Rome Collective development, the latest project from Tastes Pretty Good Hospitality — the local group behind Michelin-starred Rocca, Bib Gourmand-recognized Streetlight Taco, and the buzzed-about Bar Terroir.

The concept centers on wood-fired grilling and traditional paella, with tapas built around pristine seafood, imported cheeses, and cured hams. Executive Chef and Co-Founder Nick Orr leads the kitchen. The bar leans into the Spanish theme too, pouring Spanish wines, cider, sangria, and a gin program alongside the food menu.

Lumbre is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. Reservations are currently available for the North Hyde Park spot, which joins a fast-growing restaurant row on Rome Avenue.

For a group with a Michelin star already on the shelf, opening a Spanish-focused tapas bar a few blocks from their existing restaurants is a statement: Rome Avenue is becoming one of Tampa’s real dining destinations, not just a strip with one or two draws.
