Jimmy Eat World: 25 Years of Bleed American
Jimmy Eat World is playing Bleed American front to back for its 25th anniversary, with Hot Mulligan and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers opening. The album sold 1.7 million copies and threw off “The Middle,” a top-5 Hot 100 hit — AllMusic credits it with helping birth mainstream emo-pop as a genre. The band self-financed it after Capitol Records dropped them, which makes the quarter-century victory lap land a little differently.
An outdoor amphitheater show, loud and crowded but nothing objectionable in the content — fine for teens, a long night for little kids.
Good to know: MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4802 US Hwy 301 N, Tampa, FL 33610. Saturday, Nov. 14, 7pm. Tickets through Ticketmaster.
