Hamilton

October 21 @ 7:30 pm - November 8 @ 10:00 pm

Hamilton is back at the Straz Center for a 24-show run through Nov. 8 — the longest stretch the touring production has given Tampa since it first played here in 2019. If you have not seen it: this is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop and R&B retelling of Alexander Hamilton’s life, told with a cast that plays the Founding Fathers as the immigrants and outsiders most of them actually were. It won 11 Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a Grammy, and the New York Times’ Ben Brantley called it, simply, “that good” — a show critics still rank among the most significant works of American musical theater this century.

It runs about two hours and 45 minutes with one intermission, and while nothing in it is inappropriate for kids, the pacing and density of the lyrics (it is almost entirely sung-through, fast, and history-dense) make it a better fit for older kids and up rather than toddlers.

Weeknight performances — Oct. 27, 28 and 29 specifically — carry the lowest ticket prices of the run, for anyone trying to see it without the weekend markup. Parking at the Straz means either the Poe Garage across Tyler Street or one of the surface lots nearby; neither is included in a ticket price, and both fill up fast once a Hamilton crowd starts arriving two hours before curtain for the will-call line.

Tickets run through the Straz Center box office and its authorized resale partners — strazcenter.org is the place to start, and it is also where the full performance calendar and seating chart live.

Good to know: Morsani Hall, Straz Center, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Pl, Tampa, FL 33602. Oct. 21 – Nov. 8, 2026, 24 performances. Parking at the Poe Garage or nearby surface lots, not included in ticket price.
