The Tampa Bay Lightning don’t play in July, but that hasn’t stopped them from throwing one of downtown’s better summer parties. Bolts Brew Fest — now in its ninth year — takes over Benchmark International Arena this Saturday, July 25, with craft beer and spirits from a lineup of local and regional makers, oversized lawn games scattered around the concourse, and appearances from ThunderBug working the crowd.
It’s an adults-oriented event given the pours, but there’s enough going on beyond the beer list — games, music, the arena itself — that it plays more like a downtown block party than a straight tasting event. If you’ve been to Bolts Brew Fest in past years, expect the same easy, walk-around format: sample, wander, repeat, with the arena’s downtown location putting you a short walk from the Riverwalk and Channelside if you want to extend the night afterward.
This is a solid pick if you want a Saturday that doesn’t require a ticket to a specific show or a reservation months out — just show up, grab a wristband, and work your way through the lineup at your own pace.
